56407 This show was wonderful. They played in their hometown on the day before Thanksgiving in what is one of the best venues in Louisville to perform in. The crowd was in love with every second of sound that eminated from the stage (myself included) and the band loved them right back. It was magical. I commute to a small desert town about 50 miles away and each day I play a new download for music. I've been disappointed on what's out there for MMJ until this! Awesome quality, and kudos to the taper for editing out the DJ banter. Most downloads don't get a second day's play, but this one at the awesome Palace in Louisville is a keeper I'll be listening to for some time to come. Definitely worth the time to download! The band obviously was saving the best for last. As for "one of the best" venues in Lousiville, could you please name a better in Louisville if not the midwest? Doesn't make for the smoothest transitions between songs, but I'd rather get right back to the music than listen to DJs talk it up. Pretty good set by MMJ. The new songs sound pretty good, but once One Big Holiday kicks in as the third song, one is left wanting more of the older tunes. Still, they balanced it out fairly well. I absolutely love how clear Bermuda comes through in this recording. It will make you cry. And of course, Magheeta at the end is just rockin fun. Not really the best they have ever done, but they really milk it at this show and Jim seems to be enjoying himself. Great recording. An absolute must have simply for the quality. Since then I've listened to this show as much as or more than I've listened to "Z". And "Z" is a good disc. But right now I'm enjoying this show even more. This band isn't as tight as some others available on the archive, but their singer expresses a lot of feeling. And the songs are well written. This is good stuff.
